An Angolan entrepreneur, business owner and investor, Sílvio Bandeira has built a journey of around 23 years marked by persistence, learning and commitment to people.
“My grandmother and my mother were my main sources of inspiration.”
Sílvio Bandeira Jr., known to those closest to him simply as Sílvio Bandeira, was born in Luanda on March 22, 1990.
Affectionately known to family and closest friends as Sami, a diminutive of Samuel (Samuel Bandeira), his grandfather, of whom he is the namesake.
The son of Cecília Bandeira Lopes, he grew up in a humble family with roots in the Marçal and Zangado neighborhoods. He lived with his mother and maternal grandmother, Conceição João Castro, two figures who were decisive in his personal development and in awakening his entrepreneurial spirit.
Later, he moved with both of them to Hoji-ya-Henda. It was in that neighborhood that he consolidated his learning, made friends and began to build the professional path he would go on to follow.
His first contact with work came through Fernando Silva, an older friend he remembers as a mentor and to whom he remains deeply grateful. At his invitation, he began by helping to prepare a small neighborhood cinema, cleaning the space and the chairs. When the cinema closed and gave way to a bar, he stayed responsible for the cleanliness of the new establishment, alongside his friends Gelson dos Santos (Gegé), Hilário and Beto (Mister), the latter of fond memory.
At age 15, he began a new phase of learning with Gelson, focused on assembling and installing satellite dishes. That experience turned the interest he already had in computing into a true passion for telecommunications. Later, with Fernando Avelino, known as Nando Gordo, he also took his first steps in electronic security.
In 2009/2010, he brought that experience together in his first company, SBLG-Telecomunicações (SG-TEL). After the birth of his son, the company was renamed VOGAL, in a decision that also sought to connect him to the project as a partner.
As founder, Sílvio Bandeira defines VOGAL's strategic vision, shapes the organizational culture and works to secure the resources the business needs to grow sustainably.

For Sílvio Bandeira, the vision of a company that wants to grow must be clear, inspiring and future-oriented. It is that vision that works like a compass, giving coherence to strategic decisions and aligning the whole organization around the path ahead.
A leader must look beyond the daily operation, anticipate trends, recognize opportunities and identify potential threats before the competition. Growing requires designing future scenarios and turning ambitious goals into structured, achievable plans.
Instead of acting only as a “firefighter” who resolves urgent matters, a leader must think like a systems engineer: creating scalable processes and clear workflows capable of keeping up with a growing number of clients.
Openness to innovation and to technologies such as Artificial Intelligence makes it possible to reduce costs, improve processes and increase productivity.
A company does not grow when every decision depends on a single person. A leader must develop new leaders, prepare professionals to take on responsibilities and delegate with clarity, defined deadlines, autonomy and trust.
Business growth reflects the growth of the team. Human leadership promotes merit and recognition, celebrates successes in public, corrects mistakes in private and creates psychological safety to learn, contribute and innovate without fear.
Growth needs a clear reason. It is up to the leader to communicate the value the organization delivers and the picture of the future it aims to build in the medium and long term. When the team understands and shares that purpose, individual effort becomes collective strength.
From the first responsibilities in a small neighborhood business to the creation of an Angolan technology company.
He began by helping to prepare and clean a small cinema and, later, the bar that occupied the same space, learning the value of responsibility from an early age.
In Maianga, on the computer of his older cousin and namesake, Samuel Miranda (Sami), he discovered his first games and learned the two keys that sparked his curiosity about the world of computing.
With Gelson dos Santos, he learned to assemble and install satellite dishes. It was during that period that his passion for telecommunications was born.
At the home of his childhood friend Fábio dos Santos (Novito), he nervously faced his first job on a satellite dish. When he managed to solve the problem, his friends celebrated by lifting him into the air — a moment that remains one of the strongest milestones of his journey.
Alongside Fernando Avelino, he deepened his knowledge and began working in the world of electronic security.
He created SBLG-Telecomunicações (SG-TEL), the foundation of the business project that would later take on the name VOGAL.
